Common error messages
If you get the following messages, check the spelling and punctuation of the URL
(website address). If it is correct, it may mean that there is a network problem
and you should contact your network provider.
1. Internet Explorer cannot open site
2. Cannot connect to server
3. The website is unavailable
Browser types
This site is optimised for Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and higher. You can
view it using other browsers, such as Firefox or Opera, but the layout
may not come out as intended. Click here
to download the latest version of Internet Explorer.
If you don't know
which browser type you are using, select 'Help' on the toolbar of your current
browser and from the drop down menu, select 'About'. This will tell you which
version you are using.
Screen resolution
The site is designed for a screen resolution of at least 600x800 pixels (dots
on your screen). If your computer is set to a lower resolution (e.g. 640x480
pixels), you will not be able to see the pages in their full width.
To change the resolution
on your screen, follow these instructions:
In Windows:
· Press the 'Start' button in the lower left hand corner of your screen;
· In the ensuing menu, select 'Control Panel';
· In the next window, double click 'Display';
· Choose the 'Settings' tab at the top of the next window;
· Find the box reading 'Desktop area' and set it to 800x600 pixels if
you have a medium sized screen, or 1024x768 pixels if you have a large screen.
Font size
You can adjust the size of the fonts to suit your preferences.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, select 'View' on the toolbar of your browser
and from the drop down menu, select 'Font size'.
In Netscape Navigator, select 'View' on the toolbar of your browser and from
the drop down menu, select 'Text size'.
